The Institute for Learning in Retirement offers noncredit, continuing education courses for older adults.

The Human Development and Social Policy Program of the School of Education and Social Policy offers a doctoral program in human development and social policy.
The Family Institute
The Family Institute at Northwestern University is the Midwest’s oldest and largest center devoted to marital and family therapy, professional education, and research. Their focus is to strengthen and heal families through clinical treatment, teaching, and research. The institute offers a postgraduate clinical fellowship focused on the treatment of older adults.
The Division of Geriatric Medicine
The Division of Geriatric Medicine is a division of the Department of Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine and offers a fellowship in geriatric medicine.
The Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease Center
The Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease Center (CNADC) is a multidisciplinary organization and training center dedicated to conducting research on how the brain coordinates mental functions such as memory, language, attention, and emotion. This research will benefit patients with brain diseases that impair cognitive function and provide training opportunities to researchers and clinicians in the field of aging.

The Multipurpose Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases Center addresses a broad range of clinical, research, and educational activities at Northwestern University that are related to rheumatologic diseases.
Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Health Learning Center
The Health Learning Center located at Northwestern Memorial Hospital is a health information library that offers various services related to health and health care, including books, journals, audio and video taps, and online resources. The center is open to the public and all services are free of charge.

Audiology and Hearing Science Concentration
The Audiology and Hearing Sciences concentration in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program, School of Communication, offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. Their adult hearing loss laboratory focuses on personality and sociodemographic factors that influence adjustment to hearing loss in older adults.
Research in Molecular Biology
The Department of Neurobiology and Physiology at the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences performs research on the molecular basis of Alzheimer disease, learning, and memory. Their laboratory research focuses on the interface between molecular biology, physiology, and behavior.
Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Feinberg School of Medicine offers a one-year, ACGME accredited fellowship program in geriatric psychiatry. The program includes experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings as well as experience in varied nonpsychiatric setting with an older adult population.
